National University offers over 130 degree programs and 23 certificate programs in a wide range of areas, such as business, healthcare, engineering, education, criminal justice, and homeland security. Eight schools and divisions offer the programs: College Letters and Sciences, School of Business and Management, Sanford College of Education, School of Engineering and Computing, School of Professional Studies, School of Health and Human Services, the Language Institute, and Division of Extended Learning. Students are able to pursue the programs either on campus or online, and more than 1,500 courses are available online. About 156 programs are offered online. The online programs include interactive interaction with video streaming, multimedia learning materials, and real-time discussions.

The Bachelor of Science in Biology is a campus-based program that provides students with an interdisciplinary approach and allows for the incorporation of study in the life sciences and applied areas, such as forensics. A minimum of 180 quarter credits is needed to complete the program. The courses include Ecology, Genetics, Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, Invertebrate Zoology, Vertebrate Zoology, and Botany.

The Associate of Arts with Concentration in Business is available both on campus and online. It provides students with a broad overview of business, accounting, economics, legal studies, management, and marketing. A minimum of 90 quarter credits is needed for completion of the degree. The courses include Intro to Business, Financial Accounting Funds, Managerial Accounting Funds, Intro to Economics, Legal Aspects of Business, Basic Marketing, Business Finance, and Principles of Management and Organizations.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science provides students with the technical and design abilities necessary to succeed in computing. The program balances a strong educational foundation with real-world programming. A minimum of 180 quarter credits is needed to complete the degree. The courses include Object-Oriented Design, Linear Algebra and Matrix Comp, Scientific Problem Solving, Discrete Structures and Logic, Data Structures and Algorithms, Algorithm Design, Digital Login Design, Computer Architecture, Computer Ethics, Database Design, Programming Languages, and Computer Science Project. The program is available both on campus and online.

The Bachelor of Arts in Digital Journalism provides students with a sound understanding of journalism fundamentals and expertise in delivering news and information using various media and platforms. A minimum of 180 quarter credits are needed to complete the program. The courses include News Writing and Editing, New Journalism Technology, Journalism Law and Ethics, Global Journalism, Mobile Reporting, Editing Multimedia, Enterprise Reporting, Journalism on Screen, Journalism Business Skills, and Long-form Nonfiction.

About National University

National University is a private nonprofit postsecondary school based out of San Diego, California. It is categorized as San Diego’s largest nonprofit institution of higher learning and California’s second-biggest. It was established in 1971 by a retired U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander named David Chigos. It was founded in response to the demand for non-traditional postsecondary education for working adults. Work-Study

The Federal Work-Study is a program funded by the federal government that helps students pay for their higher education. Students who show significant financial need are able to work up to 20 hours a week while they are enrolled in classes to earn money for college. The program encourages students to select positions related to their course of study or ones that benefit the community. Pay depends on the circumstances, but students make no less than the current federal minimum wage.
