About Granite State College
Granite State College was opened in 1972 by the Board of Trustees for the University System of New Hampshire formed 10 years prior by Governor Wesley Powell to educate statewide. Called the School of Continuing Studies, it graduated an inaugural class of nontraditional adults in 1974. On September 1, 2016, Granite State College completed the self-study evaluation report for the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (CIHE) to renew the Level III accreditation through Fall 2025 under its sixth president, Dr. Mark Rubinstein, who accepted the Volunteer NH Spirit of New Hampshire Award. Located 60 miles south via Interstate 93 in Burlington, this superb six-state Upper Atlantic accreditor is recognized by the U.S. Education Department to check Granite’s quality improvement principles from Concord to Nashua and online. Granite State College Application Requirements
Starting at Granite State College is considered “least selective” by the U.S. News & World Report since 100 percent of the 1,034 Fall 2017 applicants were victorious. Freshmen only need to culminate a high school diploma, homeschooling program, or GED certificate. Specific grades aren’t listed, except for the maximum 90 transfer credits needing a “C” or higher. About 84 percent of students get credits for validated training and equivalency testing like the DSST too. The CCSNH Partnership ensures the smoothest transition from seven schools, including White Mountains and Lakes Region Community Colleges. Hopeful Online RN-to-BSN entrants must hold active nursing licenses and associate degrees or diplomas with GPAs over 2.5. Online Instruction and Leadership MS majors must qualify for New Hampshire teacher certification with a background check. Granite State College has rolling registration year-round for easy admission. However, please note that tuition payment deadlines are currently September 12th for Fall, December 27th for Winter, March 27th for Spring, and July 8th for Summer. Tuition and Financial Aid
For 2018-19, Granite State College is charging New Hampshirites $314 per undergrad credit. Non-resident associate or bachelor’s majors pay $355 per credit. CLEP credits cost $112 each. Students afford a $40 academic services fee, $35 registration fee, and $100 conferral fee. Teacher certification programs add a $250 field-based mentoring fee. GSC suggests budgeting $900 for books, $1,287 for transport, $9,810 for rent, and $1,467 for living expenses. Annual full-time attendance equals around $21,177 in-state and $22,116 out-of-state.
