Nova Southeastern University’s Center for Psychological Studies awards the A. Gordon Rose Scholarship to eligible students in good standing who are pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in psychology. The scholarship, awarded as a tuition waiver, is provided to eligible students who have demonstrated a commitment to professional work and research with the goal of increasing community- and self-acceptance of lesbian and gay individuals.

2. American Psychological Foundation Graduate Study Scholarships

Together, the American Psychological Foundation (APF) and the Council of Graduate Departments of Psychology (COGDOP) award 15 scholarships from $1,000 to $5,000 with the goal of helping graduate psychology students in master’s or doctoral degree programs by paying for the expenses associated with psychological research. Every U.S.-based graduate department of psychology that belongs to the COGDOP is eligible to nominate outstanding graduate students who are working on their doctoral dissertation or master’s thesis. Nominees are required to submit an official transcript of graduate work, a short outline detailing their research project, a recommendation letter from their graduate research advisor and a completed application form.

3. Arnold Horowitz Endowed Memorial Award

Hofstra University offers a scholarship each year, sponsored by a generous endowment fund created in memory of Arnold Horowitz, to graduate students who are pursuing a master’s degree in psychology within the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts. This scholarship is renewable for a maximum of three years of graduate study, and candidates must be enrolled on a full-time basis, demonstrate financial need on a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

4. California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists Scholarships

Graduate psychology students who are earning a master’s degree in psychology and seeking to work within the field of marriage and family therapy may be eligible for a $4,000 scholarship from The Educational Foundation of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). Candidates must be of high ethical and moral value, actively participate in civic or community events, demonstrate financial need, showcase a high level of achievement in their studies and be in pursuit of an accredited degree in order to be eligible. Graduate student who are also conducting research projects that will contribute to the profession in a positive manner are also encouraged to apply.

5. CPA-F Minority Scholarship Program

The goal of the CPA-F Minority Scholarship Program offered by the California Psychological Association Foundation is to encourage minority students interested in psychology to further their talents and interests as researchers, practitioners, administrators and teachers. Applicants may be awarded one of three $2,000 scholarships, and in order to be eligible, candidates must be a graduate of an accredited university, belong to a minority group and show evidence of acceptance into a doctoral program in California.
