University of Florida Application Requirements

Students who are applying as incoming freshman to the University of Florida must submit an online application. This application will include both an essay and a resume section. They must also submit a $30 application fee which is non-refundable. After submitting an application, students should submit a Student Self-Reported Academic Record through the university’s website. Finally, students should be prepared to send the official scores from standardized tests to the university. These tests may include the ACT, SAT or the SAT II.

Students who are in pursuit of a graduate degree from the University of Florida should check with the relevant department or program to learn about the exact requirements of admission. The minimum requirements will include an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution. The University of Florida searches for students who were able to achieve a 3.0 GPA throughout their undergraduate degree. They are also interested in students who have achieved a score of at least 465 on the GMAT exam.

Online Degrees Available

Master of Science in Pharmacy – Clinical Pharmacy

The University of Florida offers a Master of Science in Pharmacy degree with an emphasis in Clinical Pharmacy. This program is designed to enhance the skills of students who have already achieved a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Students need to complete 36 credits to complete the degree. All courses are eligible to be completed online. Students will also gain practical experience which they are able to complete in their home area. This degree is not designed to provide licensure in the United States.

Master of Science in Pharmacy- Pharmaceutical Chemistry

This program may be taken either as a graduate degree or as a graduate certificate. To complete the Master’s degree, students must successfully complete 32 credits of studies with an overall GPA of at least 3.0. Students will be offered core courses as well as elective courses that benefit the concentration in pharmaceutical chemistry. These elective courses include but are not limited to:

Master of Science in Pharmacy- Forensic Science

The forensic science concentration is offered by the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida. This is a multidisciplinary program that is suitable for students looking for employment with laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, medical examiner offices, and crime laboratories. This degree requires the completion of 32 credit hours and seven core courses. Students are also required to take 14 elective credits that include but are not limited to:

MS in Veterinary Forensic Sciences

Students who complete a graduate degree in Veterinary Forensic Sciences will be required to complete five course requirements. In addition to these requirements, students will also be able to choose from electives. This program is designed for veterinarians and vet technicians who are already practicing in their fields. It is also suitable for animal control officers, forensic investigators, and criminal justice professionals.

Students in this program will choose between a thesis option and a non-thesis option. Students who choose to complete a thesis will be required to submit a research project to a committee and defend their thesis in front of a committee. This thesis must be meaningful research that must be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal. The thesis option is ideal for students who are interested either in publication or in pursuing a PhD program.

Students who are not interested in completing a thesis will be required to complete coursework to meet the requirements for the completion of the degree.

MS in Veterinary Medical Sciences in Shelter Medicine

This degree is designed for practicing veterinary professionals as well as those who work in shelters or within animal welfare. This degree is offered fully online to support busy working professionals. This graduate degree is designed to support and expand the knowledge base of veterinary professionals. The main focus of the program lies in providing medicine and managing operations in an animal shelter. Students will be able to take part in interactive classes where they were learn skills like:
