Degree Programs at the University of Central Missouri

This university boasts more than 138 degree programs plus certificates. Twenty-one of those are offered online. Many programs also can be earned in a hybrid format, meaning some of the courses are online and some on campus.
There are certificate programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Certificates are pursued to enhance a degree or to provide foundational education in a career where no degree is necessary. The University of Central Missouri has an active aeronautics program and offers a Certificate in Aeronautics that requires 12-13 semester hours in the certificate area and 3-4 hours in general education. Among many other certificates at this school are the Certificate in Applied Behavioral Analysis and the Certificate in Autism Spectrum. There is also a Police Academy certification that allows students to become certified to apply for positions in law enforcement.
The university offers more than 70 undergraduate degrees and 64 graduate programs. They begin with degrees in accounting like the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and the Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science that is presented with two options.
There are several aviation degree programs. At the undergraduate level, students may earn a Bachelor of Science ( B.S.) in Aviation Maintenance Management that is a 120-credit-hour program. It comes with an Airport Management or a Flight Operations Management option. Students may also earn a B.S. in Aviation Maintenance Management in the 2+2 format. Students earn what is basically an associate degree during the first two years, then use that information to enter the bachelor of science program in their junior year. The program teaches critical thinking skills and teamwork. There are 74 semester hours in the major ( 42 in the associate degree technical courses) 20 in the required major courses and 15 hours in the management focus. At the graduate level, students may earn a Master of Science degree in Aviation Safety that is presented online, on campus or in a hybrid format. This is the only program of its kind in the nation, and it has been offered for thirty years. Among other subjects, it addresses issues in the physiological and psychological aspects of flight. There are 33 hours in the program including 24 in major coursework and nine in electives like Accident Investigation.
There are several biology degrees as well. The Bachelor of Science in Biology is a 120-credit-hour program that can be earned with several concentrations. Students may earn the BS in Biology: General Biology; the BS in Biology: Biomedical, Cellular and Molecular Biology; BS in Biology: Ecology and Evolutionary Biology; BS in Biology: Integrative Biology-Animal Biology; BS in Biology: Pre Vet, Pre Dental or Pre Med and several others.
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program contains concentrations in computer networking; data science; game development and others. There is also a Master of Science in Computer Science that contains 30 credit-hours and can be earned in an accelerated format. It focuses on the application of technology to solve practical problems. Students who do not have a background in computer sciences are required to take the course Object-Oriented Programming and Data Structures. The accelerated format is a BS-MS degree that includes five options: Computer Networking; Computer Science; Data Science; Game Development or Software development.
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice tackles moral and ethical issues in criminal justice and focuses on communication skills and on understanding the causes and prevention of crime as well as the criminal justice system. It contains 120 credit-hours and can be pursued online, on campus or as a hybrid degree program. The university also offers a Master of Science in Criminal Justice that is presented online or on campus. It explores issues in criminal justice and research methodology.
The university’s MBA program is also presented online, on campus or as a hybrid. There are 33 credit-hours in the program, which allows students to choose from six concentrations.

This school, in Warrensburg, Missouri, was founded in 1871 as Normal School #2, a training school for teachers. There are more than 12,000 students in the student body, 90 percent of which are from Missouri. The school is divided into four colleges plus an honors college that house fifteen schools. University of Central Missouri Application Requirements
Freshman applicants to the university use the online form and pay a non-refundable application fee of $30. They must arrange for the high school they attended to send their official transcripts and for the agency that administered the ACT or SAT to send those official scores as well.
Graduate students apply online and pay the $30 non-refundable fee as well. They must arrange for the university to receive all transcripts of undergraduate and graduate coursework completed. Additionally, they must have their official GMAT, GRE or other graduate-level test scores sent to the university graduate department. Generally, graduate students must submit letters of recommendation, resumes, statements of purpose and other documentation that is determined by the department that houses their degrees.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Undergraduate tuition at this university is $235 per-credit-hour for undergraduates and $313 per-credit-hour for graduate students.
Students earning degrees online or in a hybrid format pay $292 per-credit-hour for undergraduate courses and $365.90 for most graduate-level courses. Graduate business courses cost $487 per-credit-hour.
Housing at the University of Central Missouri averages $5,612 per year and meal plans average $1,775 per semester for students in their first two years of study. Thereafter, they cost an average of $150 for a 25-meal block.
