South College offers several options for bachelor’s degrees in information technology. The Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity is a four-year degree that is offered completely online. The program is designed to train students to analyze digital networks and identify weaknesses and vulnerabilities. At the end of the program, successful students will be able to harden cyber networks against attacks and prevent the leaking of sensitive data, such as credit card numbers and bank account information. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is available online for nurses who already have a registered nursing license. A growing number of hospitals and healthcare clinics require nurses to hold a bachelor of science degree from an accredited college. The B.S.N. program at South College offers a carefully selected blend of research, leadership and nursing skills for working professionals. South College offers five master of science degrees in nursing. The option,s include acute care adult gerontology, family nurse practitioner, family psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, nurse executive and pediatrics. These degrees can all be completed in two to three years, depending on the level of enrollment, and they’re all available fully online. Students of the M.S.N. F.N.P. program have a choice of three possible degree tracks. South College offers this program for students who have not already completed a bachelor’s degree. The R.N.-to-M.S.N. track can take 30 months to complete while the R.N.-to-B.S.N.-to-M.S.N. track can take 36 months, depending on the student’s academic background.

The Knoxville and Knoxville Parkside campuses offer a Master of Education in Elementary Education degree. This program takes about 15 months to complete, and it does have residency requirements. Graduates of this program will meet the necessary license requirements to teach students at the K-5 level. The Atlanta, Knoxville Parkside, and Nashville campuses offer a Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Graduates of this program will acquire the skills necessary to assess patients’ health, perform physical exams, administer preventive care and diagnose illnesses and injuries.

About South College

South College was founded in Knoxville, Tenn., in 1882 by Jacob T. Johnson. The school was originally a Knoxville campus of the Nashville Business College. The name was later changed to Knoxville Business College, and the school expanded to include several buildings in downtown Knoxville. For over a century, the Knoxville Business College offered professional training for students throughout the region. In 2001, the name was officially changed to South College. In the time since its name change, many new online programs have been created, and students from all over the country now attend distance education courses at South College.

South College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCC). The SACSCC is authorized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit universities throughout the South. South College Application Requirements

Admissions at South College are open to undergraduate and graduate students from all over the country. To ensure acceptance, students should score at least 830 on the SAT I exam or 17 on the ACT Assessment exam. Graduate student applicants must show proof of a bachelor’s degree with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. Undergraduate applicants must show proof of a high school diploma, or its equivalent, with a GPA of at least 2.5. Students who don’t meet the minimum academic requirements for enrollment can apply for the Seamless Alignment and Integrated Learning Support (SAILS) program. Program start dates occur in September, October, January, April and June.
