Linfield College, located in McMinnville, Oregon, is a private, four-year university. The school has a campus in Portland, Oregon and offers an online adult degree program. Linfield College Application Requirements

Students seeking an online bachelor’s degree from Linfield College must first complete the Common Application. If submitting the application online, students are not required to pay an application fee. All students are required to submit a personal essay, member questions and updated academic records from all secondary universities and schools when applicable. First-year undergraduate students must send an official school report, an official high school transcript, a teacher recommendation from an academic course and official ACT and/or SAT scores.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Since Linfield College is an independent, not-for-profit institution, the school is able to offer the same tuition for both out-of-state and in-state online students. Tuition charges are based on the number of credits a student takes per semester, so students are charged on a “pay-as-you-learn” basis. All online students must pay a $50 application fee, and the tuition rate is approximately $495 per semester credit. Each online course is three to four semester credits. Students must also pay a $210 online fee per semester. In addition, students pursuing an online RN to BSN degree are required to pay a $525 credit for prior learning, a $60 nursing liability insurance premium and a $100 experiential learning fee.

Financial aid is available to eligible certificate- and degree-seeking students who are pursuing online degrees. In order to qualify for financial aid, online students must enroll in a minimum of six semester courses and be admitted to Linfield’s Online and Continuing Education Program. Courses are offered online through The Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing, and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredits the program. Students will complete a community-centered bachelor’s degree that emphasizes the development of their skills in population health, cultural sensitivity, leadership and professional communication. The degree places an emphasis on experiences that prepare RNs for practice in an ever-changing healthcare environment and in a diverse global community. The curriculum is designed specifically for working RNs and taught by certified online instructors and includes courses in population-based nursing, evidence-based nursing, professional communication in healthcare, transition to professional nursing and integrated experiential learning.
