About Bryan College

William Jennings Bryan University was first established in 1930 and enrolled its first class of students that same year. Upon opening, the university stated that its mission was to provide higher learning to men and women who are Christian and spiritual. By 1958, the university changed its name to William Jennings Bryan College. In 1993, the extra verbiage was dropped and the institution became known as Bryan College. Throughout the years, Bryan College’s mission statement has remained underlyingly the same. Today, the goal is to educate servants of Christ so that they can take their education, coupled with their faith, and make an impact around the world. While Bryan College was founded on faith, it still has an overall goal of providing students with the means to grow personally as well as become leading professionals in their fields.

Bryan College is located on a gorgeous hilltop and rests across 128 acres in Dayton, Tennessee. The Great Smoky Mountains aren’t too far off and contribute to the scenic views on campus. Bryan College is home to just over 1,400 students who all uphold the college’s values and morals. The campus and many members of the student body identify as an evangelical institution. Most of the curriculum and campus foundation emphasizes biblical viewpoints that are carried out regularly through acceptance of the written Scriptures. Where there is faith, there is philosophy, and at Bryan College, theological beliefs keep the students grounded in their daily lives and their academic ones.

While a statement of faith isn’t required to be a member of Bryan College’s student body, the campus takes comfort in having a belief system to uphold the mission statement and values. Bryan College has well-trained faculty members who are capable of delivering a high-quality learning experience for all students who attend. Faculty members also serve as role models who consistently portray their faith and their dedication to providing students with the tools they need to thrive within the classroom and upon graduation. Bryan College is a community that is committed to serving others and doing all they can to change the world. No matter what students choose to study, each program is just as enlightening and rigorous as the next. The result of such an extensive workload is a well-rounded and ambitious professional.
