We reviewed 75 Chicago area colleges and universities listed by the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES) College Navigator and the Web that were within an approximately one-hour drive from Chicago. We gave preference to schools ranked with major publications like U.S. News and World Report. We ranked the Chicago-area schools according to raw affordability.
