About the University of West Alabama

The University of West Alabama was founded in 1835 and was originally called Livingston Female Academy. The school was once a church-supported entity, but it would eventually become a public school. Most of the participants of the original board members of the school belonged to the Presbyterian church. The campus is in Livingston, Alabama, and covers 600 acres. Around 5,100 students attend the university, and the institution’s official colors are red and white.

Teams at the university are nicknamed the Tigers with a mascot named Luie the Tiger. University of West Alabama Application Requirements

Freshmen applicants to the University of West Alabama will begin with the official application and a $30 application fee. Tuition and Financial Aid

A dorm room is $5,600 each year, and a meal plan is $2,750. Fees add another $1,890 to the total. The college estimates the overall cost at $19,340 for residents and $28,440 for non-residents. Students will also need to budget additional money for books, supplies, travel expenses, and personal costs.

Graduate students from Alabama will pay $355 per credit hour, and non-residents will pay $710 per credit hour. Enrollees will also pay an information technology fee of $120 to $180. For online students, the university charges a per-credit rate of $325 for undergraduate students and $429 for graduate students. Students may also pay other fees like a technology fee of $50 each session, a clinical experience fee of $50, and a comprehensive examination fee of $50.
