Everything is bigger in Texas, so it is no surprise that the list of degrees at this Texas school is extensive. There are several colleges in the university. The first listed is the College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs. This school houses degree programs in architecture; landscape architecture; interior design; urban planning; public administration and public affairs. There are two undergraduate degree programs (The Bachelor of Science in Architecture and the Bachelor of Science in Interior Design), and seven graduate degrees including, among others, the Master of Architecture; Master of City and Regional Planning; Ph.D. in Public Administration and Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Public Policy and three minors as well as four graduate certificates.

The College of Business houses two undergraduate degrees, three master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in Accounting. There are also five undergraduate programs in business administration including the international business administration dual major. These are programs that require completion of international business coursework plus 26-32 hours in a modern foreign language. Current offerings are Chinese, French, German, Korean, Russian or Spanish.

There is also a regular Bachelor of Business Administration that can be earned with one of eight concentrations and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting or a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Additionally, there are undergraduate and graduate programs in finance, healthcare administration, information systems and operation management, management and marketing.

The College of Education has five undergraduate degrees: the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with EC-6 Bilingual Teacher Certification; Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with EC-6 ESL Teacher Certification; Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with 4-8 Middle-Level English Language Arts/ Social Studies Teacher Certification; Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with 4-8 Middle-Level Math/ Science Teacher Certification and the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with EC-12 Special Education Teacher Certification.

There is a Master of Education with Teacher Certification and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction that may be earned in one of four specializations including the M.E. in Mind, Brain and Education.

Additionally, there are two Master of Education in Educational Leadership programs, a Ph.D. and a fast-track Bachelor of Arts-to- Ph.D. program along with four certificates including the initial teacher certification.

The College of Engineering has degree programs in bioengineering (biomedical engineering); civil engineering; computer science and engineering; electrical engineering; industrial and manufacturing systems; materials science and mechanical engineering and aerospace.

The College of Liberal Arts has a huge diversity of offerings. Students may earn degrees in sociology and anthropology; art, art history; communications; criminology and criminal justice; English; history; linguistics; modern languages; music; philosophy and humanities; political science and theatre arts.

There are also colleges of nursing, science and one college entitled Student Success that is greatly interdisciplinary.

Online degree programs at UTA include several nursing degrees. Students may earn the Bachelor of Science in Nursing; the RN-BSN degree; the RN-MSN; the RN-MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner or the Professional Nursing Pathways degree. The University of Texas at Arlington Application Requirements

Students applying to UTA as first-year freshmen should apply online through either the APPLYTEXAS or the Common Application. They must arrange to have the high school they attended submit their official transcript to UTA as well as having the testing agency that administered the SAT or ACT to send those official scores. There is a non-refundable application fee of $75.

Students applying to graduate degrees should apply online as well. They may download an unofficial transcript of all undergraduate work completed; the official transcripts will be requested upon admission to the school. Students must also arrange to have official results from any required tests they took such as the GRE and GMAT. There is a $75 application fee.

Graduate programs have varying requisites as well. These can be things such as letters of recommendation, resumes, portfolios, personal statements, and other documentation. There are also varying deadlines, so graduate applicants should study the requirements for their degree programs.

Tuition and Financial Aid

The average tuition for undergraduates at UTA is $11,040. Additionally, there are fees and costs associated with housing and meals. Students must budget for books and supplies and personal expenses as well.
