About The University of Kansas
The University of Kansas was founded in 1866. The same year, it hosted its first 55 students. The building in which classes were held was still in the process of being built. Today, The University of Kansas is home to 28,500 students. To ensure all students are accommodated, The University of Kansas is spread across five different campuses. The university has held on tightly to its morals and values that were instilled hundred of years ago. The academic foundation that was created in 1866 has remained firmly in place and has continued to uphold the legacy. The University of Kansas Application Requirements
First-year undergraduate students should complete a virtual application and submit self-reported SAT or ACT scores, high school transcripts and credentials, a comprehensive list of completed high school courses, and a $40 application fee. Students who have taken the GED or HiSET should submit those scores for consideration, if applicable.
Graduate students should meet the minimum requirements in order to be considered for admissions. Prospective students should submit a completed application, official transcripts that show proof of a received bachelor's degree, and a $65 application fee. Students should reference their program of choice to ensure all the proper supplemental documents are submitted along with the initial application. International students will have to submit English proficiency test scores.
Tuition and Financial Aid
For undergraduate students that are residents of the state of Kansas, tuition will be $339.40 per credit hour. Students who reside on campus will pay anywhere from $6,500 to $14,500. For books, the fee will be $1,212. Undergraduates who are non-residents of the state, tuition will be $901.65 per credit hour. Room and board costs, as well as book fees, are the same for non-residents.
Graduate tuition varies based on the program of choice. For a student who is a resident of the state and participating in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, tuition will be $419.20 per credit hour. Graduates who are non-residents of the state, tuition will be $1,000.95 per credit hour. All graduate students who choose to reside on campus will pay $10,568 and book fees of $574.
The University of Kansas awards 67% of undergraduate students with financial assistance in the form of a scholarship with average amounts totaling $8,443. The university also provides 24% of first-year students with grants with amounts ranging up to $4,513.
