The Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is available entirely online and is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. Students will learn the counseling practices and theories needed to empower clients to overcome challenges in private practice, public, or institutional settings. The field experiences, residencies, and coursework are also designed to prepare students to sit for the state licensure examination after graduation. All students pursuing an online degree must complete an application and complete an acknowledgment agreement. Doctoral students must provide proof of a master’s degree. Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions are required. Some Capella degree programs have other application and admission requirements. These may include a faculty interview, a writing sample or essay, a resume or curriculum vitae, letters of recommendation, or forms and documents disclosing work experience, background, and licensure information.
