There are more than 100 degrees and programs available at Canisius College, with programs divided into three divisions that include the Richard J. Wehle School of Business, the School of Education & Human Services, and the College of Arts & Sciences. While enrolled at Canisius College, students may get to learn within one of several institutes operated by the college like the Canisius College Video Institute, the Center for Lifelong Learning, and the Institute for Classical and Medieval Studies.

Some of the college’s most popular programs are in business, biology, social sciences, psychology, and journalism. The college enjoys a high freshman retention rate of 85 percent, which means 85 percent of freshmen return for their second year of study. About Canisius College

Canisius College is a New York institution in Buffalo with ties to the Jesuit community of the Roman Catholic Church. The school was founded in 1870 by a group of religious men from Germany. Its name comes from a Catholic saint named St. Peter Canisius. The school’s campus covers 72 acres in Buffalo, and the institution was once primarily concerned with educating the sons of immigrants from Germany.

Today, the college offers more than 100 options for undergraduate degrees and minors, as well as more than 30 graduate degree programs and certificates. The college’s official colors are gold and blue, and its students play as the Golden Griffins and Lady Griffins. Canisius College Application Requirements

First-year students who want to apply to Canisius College will need to submit a paper application or apply online. Students may also use the Common Application to apply to the college. Prospective freshmen will also submit a recommendation from a high school counselor, and the counselor may send the recommendation form along with the student’s standardized test scores and high school transcripts. Students 22 years or older don’t need to submit standardized test scores.

For graduate students, the application process begins with the completed application, copies of the student’s transcripts, a personal statement, and a resume. Some programs require test scores from the GRE or the GMAT, and others require letters of recommendation. Students should check with the program to which they want to apply to figure out whether there are any additional requirements.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition for undergraduate students at Canisius College is $27,940. The college is a private institution, so all students pay the same rate regardless of their residency status. In addition to the base tuition cost, students will also pay $1,488 in fees, around $1,000 for books and supplies, and $2,200 for living expenses if they live with their parents. A place in a college residence hall is $11,526. Students may also need to budget around $700 for miscellaneous expenses and $800 for transportation costs.

For graduate students, the cost for tuition from the College of Education & Human Services, the Wehle School of Business, and the College of Arts & Sciences is $820 per credit. The cost for degrees offered by the Office of Professional Studies, which includes programs in respiratory care, community health, and other areas, is $620 per credit. Classes offered in the higher education and student affairs administration program are $980 per credit.
